Meet Laura Herrero Gomez

Today we would like to introduce Laura, one of our colleagues in the marketing team who is working from the Malaga office.

Tell me about yourself briefly:
Fun, easy-going Spaniard who loves animals, food, and deep talks.

Three fun facts about you:
1. I love languages: I speak 3 languages fluently (Spanish, English, German) and know a little bit of Italian, French, and can understand some Portuguese

2. I enjoy direct contact with nature, I’m always up for a good hike up in the mountains or a stand-up paddle tour!

3. I only buy chocolate when I’m angry about something (usually forget to eat it later)

Tell us a little about your hobbies:
Tennis, padel, hiking, cycling, snorkeling… Basically, anything that makes me move, sweat, and spend time with my friends or colleagues.

You work with marketing, could you tell us more about your career?
I’m new in the marketing world, but for me it is all about getting to know people, analyzing their needs, and doing everything it’s in our hands to make that happen. It is also a team job; we need to coordinate with the different departments to design a good strategy.

What has been your favorite travel destination so far and where would you go next? WHY?
It is very difficult for me to choose just one, but I would say for me Poland was a big discovery. Their beautiful cities, amazing cuisine, and breathtaking landscapes exceeded my expectations. My next destination will probably be Hamburg, it’s like my second home and I can’t wait to see again all my friends and old colleagues.

How did you find your way to NJW?
I was visiting a friend this summer here in Malaga and as I moved back to Spain a couple of months before that I thought Malaga could be a great city to start over, and the position was just perfect for me as I am now finishing my master’s degree in Digital Marketing. I can’t be happier I applied and got to work with all these amazing colleagues from all the different offices.

What are your plans for the future?
To learn as much as I can and become a great expert in the Digital Marketing field and hope to continue working in this amazing company after my internship finishes.

What is the most extreme thing you have ever done in life?
I am not a big fan of extreme experiences… but for me, the biggest challenge I had to face was moving alone to Germany at 21 without really knowing the language and all on my own. Even though it was hard at the beginning it worked out great and in the end, I spent nearly 7 years there.
