WORKING ABROAD : EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Hello, Multies! I hope you are doing well on this fine Friday!

It’s Bianca on your native German-speaking Recruiter!

Many times when we post for a job we get a few comments mentioning that some of the jobs have lower pay than jobs in Germany or Norway.

Whilst this is true, a few things need to be taken into consideration.

Living costs vary from country to country.

So obviously you will not find a country in which you earn 45k a year for an entry-level position but a loaf of bread costs 20 cents. This would just not make sense economically.

This means that very often in the countries in which you earn a lot, you also have a lot higher living costs and vice versa.

Take Portugal for instance, the average salary in Portugal is around 850-910 Euros gross (please note that there are many different sources that give different numbers here but these numbers also come from feedback from people living in Portugal).

Whereas, in Germany, the average salaries are a lot higher.

A very good website to check the living costs of a country and/or to compare two cities such as Berlin and Lissabon, for instance, is www.numbeo.com

For candidates that are uncertain of the living costs in a country and that want to make sure that they have enough money at the end of the month to survive, we always recommend this website.

We recommend everyone to have a look at a countries average salary, the taxes and the living costs in a country before moving there.

Also for the people that would like to comment on our job posts, we kindly ask you to please first have a look at these statistics before commenting. There are a lot of people that are currently looking for jobs (especially during the pandemic) and they only get discouraged by these kinds of comments. Please consider their situation before commenting as this does take a toll on us.

We love our jobs as recruiters and the best thing about our job is that we are able to help people find a job abroad and offer them jobs. We always make sure that these jobs pay enough for you to survive the month as we would otherwise not be promoting these jobs, so trust us.

If you have any questions in regards to this information or any doubts, feel free to contact us at any time! We are happy to help!

We hope this post gave you a bit more of an insight into the costs of living when moving abroad!

We hope to hear from you soon and hopefully, we can find you a great job and you can enjoy an amazing experience abroad through us soon!!

Have a great weekend everyone!
