Work In Malta

To work in Malta is a very special thing in many ways. Due to Malta’s location, it is hardly surprising that economic booms were mostly connected to a strong military presence and an equally strong focus on trade. Since the archipelago is lacking in natural resources, working in Malta was earlier limited to fishing and subsistence-level agriculture in harder times. However, the islands have also known several periods of prosperity during their long history.

The Maltese government changed the law and opened up for the iGaming industry. Since then, all the biggest betting companies has placed an office in the city centre. This has opened up for a lot of positions for people all around the Europe because of their need for the language skill. It has become very popular for Scandinavians to work in Customer Service in Malta just because you can enjoy the sunny weather at the same time as you are earning money.

Today’s population counts to around 445,500 people. This number includes the foreign residents moving to Malta for various reasons. The island’s oldest native language is Maltese. It is derived from medieval Sicilian-Arabic and peppered with Italian as well as English loan words. However, the second official language is indeed English, spoken by nearly 90% of the population.

Malta is the smallest country in the EU and It’s definitely the sunniest country too. The Mediterranean climate with mild winters and warm summers is a bonus for lots of people moving to Malta.

Due to the country’s lovely scenery and favourable weather, outdoor enthusiasts living in Malta have various options to keep them occupied. Even if you can’t afford a yacht of your own, you may want to literally learn the ropes and try a sailing course. Divers appreciate the variety of diving sites around Malta, Comino, and Gozo, where you can venture into shipwrecks from World War II or admire the biodiversity of Mediterranean reefs.
